Join the Kilimanjaro Team for Kelly's Heroes

There is now less than a year to go to the start of the Kelly’s Heroes Kilimanjaro challenge, an industry charity event that aims to raise money and awareness for mental health and suicide prevention.

Sarah Ball, Joint MD at Balls2 marketing and organiser of PiGs, said: “My experience last year as a team member for the Loneliest Road cycle challenge made me determined to continue to support the much-needed work of Kelly’s Heroes.

“Companies and individuals within the glazing industry have supported the charity massively since 2020, first cycling from John O’Groats to Lands’ End, and then in 2022, The Loneliest Road, an international ride that covered both Europe and the US.

“Next year, we are ditching the bikes and climbing,” continued Sarah. “Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain where you can get to the summit safely without the need for oxygen assistance.

“We get brilliant support from the industry because the founder of the charity and Kelly’s dad, John Hewitt was MD at Glazerite until 2021. From the industry, the Kilimanjaro team already includes Andrew Charlesworth – Profine, Gareth Jones – Solar Fabrications, Ian Ward – CNC Recycling, Barry Halpin – UAP, Alex Dutton – Brisant Secure, Sandra Berg – Quickslide, Caroline Sharp and Catherine Lidbury – Listers, plus Andy Ball and Sarah Ball – Balls2 Marketing.

“Like other challenges for Kelly’s Heroes, it will be a mixed group of people with family and friends of Kelly’s joining the team, as well as members from the charity and its supporters including Kelly’s Heroes CEO, Sherry Adams.

“Small charities like Kelly’s Heroes rely heavily on donations. Committing to a big challenge means we can give them a financial boost to support the work they do for mental health and suicide prevention, as well as helping family and friends whose loved one died by suicide.

“There’s still room for more to join the team!” added Sarah. “So, if Kilimanjaro is on your bucket list, please contact me for more information.”

The ‘Kelly’s Heroes climb Kilimanjaro’ challenge is taking place between 12 and 20 September 2023.
