Kelly's Heroes, formerly We Mind & Kelly Matters was formed in 2019 after the devastating loss of our beautiful daughter, sister and friend Kelly Francesca Hewitt.
This website is our fundraising site dedicated to all those those passionate and caring fundraisers that care about the cause. By organising and undertaking events and activities, they are the lifeline of the charity and it really wouldn’t exist without their support and dedication.
The first major event undertaken by Kelly’s Heroes was in August 2020 with a cycle from John O Groats to Lands’ End, in 18 short months, we raised over £125,000. This was followed up with our Loneliest Road challenge in 2022 which took us from Europe on 10th September 2022 (World Suicide prevention day) ending in San Francisco on 10th October (World Mental Health Day). It's fundraisers and challenges like this that enable us to continue offering the services and support we do through the charity. We are not NHS funded and are reliant on fundraising and donations to continue to do this much needed work.
It's not all about raising the money as we undertake these challenges we are strengthening and building upon awareness of mental health awareness to our local communities through schools and workplaces.
This site is setup to showcase the great fundraising that has and will be taking place to generate not only the funds we need to operate but always highlighting and reinforcing the importance of mental health. We welcome input and pictures of anything you are doing to fundraise, always keep us involved.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do
John (Kelly’s Dad)
